ICT领域能效管理专家华为网络能源中标湖北电信高效电源改造项目，为湖北电信武汉、黄石、荆州、宜昌等分公司的站点机房提供了TP系列高效开关电源共一百多套设备。此次是湖北电信首次规模应用新一代高效电源系统，同时也标志着高效电源在国内已经开始规模应用。

湖北电信下属武汉、黄石、荆州、宜昌、十堰、襄阳等分公司有上百个站点机房的动力系统存在超期服役、设备老化、设备耗能大的问题；加之大多设备型号停产、备件缺失、部分设备厂家退出市场等原因，设备运行存在很大的安全隐患。而大部分站点机房承载着传输、交换、话务、数据等关键业务，因此对动力系统的可靠性有较高要求；同时考虑电源的节能降耗，电源的转换效率也是项目中的重点。此外，由于该项目属于老旧电源替换工程，站点机房分散，涉及地域广，割接难度大，因此对设备提供商的技术交付和支持能力也提出了更高的要求。根据此次项目的特点，华为公司成立了专项小组，投入数名技术专家，参与进行湖北电信老旧电源改造技术可行性分析和方案设计。
