现网电源运行时间长、效率低,自身能耗占通信网络总能耗的6~8%。面对节能挑战,业界纷纷推出更加高效的电源产品,帮助降低电源能耗。五年来,通信电源的核心部件——整流模块的效率已经高达96%且普遍应用,进一步提升已非常困难。近日,华为对外发布业界首款转换效率高达98%的整流模块,标志着通信电源效率再次获得突破,也得到业界的高度关注。

网络规模增长面临挑战

网络演进带来的升级换代以及站点的规模增长对电源系统的容量、可靠性等提出更高要求。而且,由于网络铺设的不断延伸,站点的增加、LTE多频多模共站带来的高功率需求等,导致能耗居高不下,这对电源的能耗以及电源的转换效率提出更严格要求。高能耗带来巨额电费,运营商能耗成本逐年上涨,压力巨大。LTE时代预计全网能耗将增加20%,高于业务增长,能源成本成为限制运营商盈利增长的关键。事实上,能耗收入比是衡量运营商及企业健康、持续发展能力及社会责任的重要指标之一。能耗收入比每升高1%,企业利润率就减少一个百分点,向能耗要效益成为业界趋势。

“全球通信运营商年收入超过2万亿美元,能源效率每提升一个百分点,都将是巨额的能源节省和可观回报。举例来说,一个负载功率为500kW的核心机房,即使只有2%的效率提升,每年就可节电10万度以上;如果用98%效率的电源改造效率仅为85%的老旧电源,年省电高达90万度。”华为网络能源产品线副总裁方良周博士近期表示。

华为发布高效能源新品

在高效稳定和绿色节能的大趋势下、在各机构和政府制定的规范推动下,站点电源正朝向小型化多功能的发展趋势,电源企业均积极开发能够提高效率的新型解决方案。作为唯一可提供15A至100A全系列高效整流模块的厂家,华为网络能源持续领军能源效率提升,近期发布了98%高效整流模块,满足市场对新产品的升级需求。

通信电源发展已经经历了四代:第一代线性电源,效率约为60%左右;第二代相控电源,效率约为80%;第三代高频开关电源,效率约为92%;第四代数字电源,最高效率可以达到96%以上,96%被业界默认为高效电源标准。

高效电源从出现到现在,已逾6年未能有所突破。普通厂家提供的相关产品效率集中在92%~94%,而可提供高于96%效率的一流厂家仅有四到五家,一些厂家尝试冲击更高的效率指标,但取得突破的很少。

这是因为,98%的电源转换效率意味着电能变换过程中损耗不超过2%,业内人士熟知,通信电源是将高电压的交流电转变为低电压的直流电,需要经过整流、逆变、降压、滤波等一系列过程,任一环节都存在损耗,再减低损耗是非常困难。而且新一代的模块必须向下兼容,即在原有的电源系统里仍然匹配并正常使用,如支持热插拔、混插、监控等,以降低升级成本。所以模块本身必须保持原来的体积和形态不变。这就给效率提升带来限制和壁垒,比如无法使用更大体积的变压器,材料用量受限制等,必须另辟蹊径,用更开拓创新的技术手段来实现损耗的降低

Moreover, because of the continuous extension of the network, the increase of the site and the high power demand brought by the multi frequency and multi mode common station of LTE, the energy consumption is high, which puts forward more stringent requirements for the energy consumption and the conversion efficiency of the power supply. High energy consumption brings huge electricity bills, and the cost of energy consumption of operators increases year by year, and the pressure is huge. In the LTE era, the total energy consumption of the whole network is expected to increase by 20%, which is higher than that of business growth, and the cost of energy will become the key to limit the profit growth of operators. In fact, the energy consumption ratio is one of the important indicators to measure the health and sustainable development capacity and social responsibility of operators and enterprises. When the energy consumption ratio increases by 1%, the profit margin of enterprises will be reduced by one percentage point.

"Global telecom operators earn more than US $2 trillion a year, and each energy efficiency increase by one percentage point will be huge energy savings and substantial returns. For example, a core engine room with a load power of 500kW can save more than 100 thousand degrees per year even if only 2% of the efficiency is improved; if the 98% efficiency power is used to transform the old power of only 85%, the annual power saving is as high as 900 thousand degrees. Dr. Fang Liangzhou, vice president of HUAWEI's network energy product line, said recently.

HUAWEI releases high efficiency energy new products

Under the trend of high efficiency and stability and green energy saving, under the impetus of various institutions and governments, the power supply is facing the trend of miniaturization and multifunction, and the power enterprises are actively developing new solutions that can improve the efficiency. As the only manufacturer that can provide 15A to 100A full range of high efficiency rectifier modules, the energy efficiency of HUAWEI network energy continues to increase, and the 98% efficient rectifier module has recently been released to meet the market demand for new products.

High efficiency power has been unable to break through for more than 6 years. It's very difficult. And the new generation of modules must be down compatible, that is, in the original power system still matched and normal use, such as supporting hot plugging, mixing, monitoring and so on, in order to reduce the cost of upgrading. So the module itself must keep its original volume and shape unchanged. This brings restrictions and barriers to efficiency improvement, such as the inability to use a larger volume transformer and the limit of material consumption. It is necessary to find a new way to reduce the loss with more innovative technology.
