日前据悉，华为公司已经签约在巴林建立一个电力容量为1.3兆瓦的数据中心，供本地电信供应商Batelco公司使用。

It is reported that Huawei has signed a contract to build a 1.3 MW data center in Bahrain for use by Batelco, a local telecommunications supplier.

According to local media Trade Arabia, Batelco expects the data center to receive Tier III certificates from Uptime Institute to demonstrate its advanced reliability capabilities, which will make it the first data center facility in Bahrain to receive Tier certification.

Batelco (Bahrain Telecom) is the leading provider of digital solutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, serving the business and consumer markets. As part of its modernization program, the company plans to improve its data processing and storage capabilities.

The agreement was signed by Mohamed Bubashait, CEO of Batelco, and An Jian, President of Huawei China Middle East Telecom Group.

"The data center will be manufactured according to world-class specifications to ensure the highest level of availability, maintainability, flexibility and seamless business continuity to support Batelco's growing operations." Jian said.

"Batelco plans to develop world-class data center services and advanced infrastructure in line with Bahrain's vision and aspirations to maintain Bahrain's leading position in the ICT industry and data economy in the region." Bubashait added.

Tier III authentication in data centers usually consists of two stages: first, to check whether the design of data center facilities meets the availability requirements of the selected level. The second stage is more important, which includes real-time testing of the mechanical and electrical properties of data center facilities under real conditions, and simulating events such as complete blackouts.
