王海涛表示，我国是世界上地震活动最强烈和地震灾害最严重的国家之一，地震预警是依托震中附近的密集地震台网，在震后数秒内快速估算地震影响范围和程度，抢在破坏性地震波到达目标地之前发布警报。国家地震烈度速报与预警工程的建设目标是，实现全国分钟级仪器地震烈度速报和重点地区秒级地震预警，为政府应急决策、公众逃生避险、重大工程地震紧急处置提供服务，最大限度地保护人民群众生命财产安全和保障社会稳定。中国铁塔拥有遍布全国各地的190万座站址及基于物联网的FSU监控系统等资源优势，将为地震预警平台快速建设提供完备的支撑保障服务。
